I have to say that I'd be inclined to say hang the expense for once and just jump in a taxi for the whole journey to Waterloo.

Use stations without escalators? Covent Garden for example.
Doesn't really help the OP - she's not going to Covent Garden.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Get a taxi. It's worth the cost for your peace of mind.

How about Euston Square to Embankment on the Circle Line and then walk across Hungerford Bridge to Waterloo?

but I am terrified of going down escalaters!

Instead of trying to go down it yourself, why not let the escalator do its job and take you down instead?

That would take almost twice as long as just simply getting any of the 3 buses that go Euston to Waterloo!

If using escalators and crowds really are troubling and time is of the essence (guessing the train from Waterloo is either of the hourly Weymouth/Exeter services) I'd also go for a taxi in the circumstances, especially if luggage is involved as well.

No one will be impatient if you stand on the right, the convention being that those who wish to walk up or down use the left side.
Stations with lifts will have emergency stairs, those with escalators will not, as escalator failure does not prevent passengers from walking up or down. And, given the number of escalators regularly out of service, you may well find that you are required to walk down anyway.
Just avoid Angel station-it has the longest escalator on the Underground.

TfL journey planner for this allows the option to avoid escalators, and provides the following route:

Walk from Euston to Euston Square, take the Metropolitan Line to Finchley Road, then take the Jubilee Line to Waterloo. The journey time is 40 minutes including the 8 minutes walk from Euston to Euston Square.

I realise this seems completely crazy because the route from Euston is taking you in the opposite direction to what you'd expect, but this so you can achieve the change at Finchley Road to a direct service on Jubilee Line to Waterloo without escalators.

The Jubilee Line at Waterloo is very deep, but there are lifts.

Walk to Kings Cross? There's definitely lifts there, I use them on a regular basis.

Kings Cross is not on the Northern Line branch that goes to Waterloo though (an option might be KC to Bank then Waterloo - City line, but I'm not sure how long that would take).
