I'd really really appreciate any help this this

I can buy a Moto G5 with 2 GB ram from Amazon for app. £140 or with 3 GB ram for app £180. Is it worth spending £40 for an extra GB of ram. I don't game. Will mainly use for emails, calls, web surfing and photos.

I would aim to keep the phone for 5 yrs or more.

I have googled this and opinion seems divided on either the more ram the better or 2 go ram on a phone is more than enough for anybody!!

Thanks for any help

Moto G5 plus with 32GB internal memory is more useful than a 2 or 3GB Ram models with only 16gb

But its nearer £250 at CPW

But to answer your question purchase the £140 model

Having gone from the G3 1GB to the G5 3GB I disagree go for the extra memory version at £180. Five years is long time in the mobile world and apps will no doubt gain a larger footprint.
Also the dual SIM (although 2G only on the second) can be useful.

I agree with Inner Zone. Experience over the last 5 years shows that more memory seems to be needed for apps and £40 is only £8 per year.

I have a 2gb phone and have to clear it's RAM every day or so to keep performance up.

The 5G Plus is at £229.99 from Currys/CPW.

32gb onboard storage, 3gb RAM, better processor, better camera.

I don't get this. Surely the RAM is cleared every time you turn the phone off?

In that case then I hope you didn't buy the G5Plus.
It's the phone I preferred due to its Corning Gorilla Glass, 3GB RAM and 2.0 processor, but didn't buy it as they've decided it would be such a good idea to solder the battery to the innards so that customers have to buy a new phone when it eventually dies.

    Idiots.

I turn it off each night because I like it within arm's reach when asleep but can do without the signal around my brain for that period.

What do you like about having a phone that is turned off within arms reach when you are asleep?
