I moved house 2 weeks ago, I've messaged my landlady asking her to forward my post to my new address while I change the address for everything, she is ignoring my messages and I'm getting quite frustrated as I've got parcels due and doctors appointments for my baby. Does she have a legal requirement to forward my post to my new address?

No she doesn't and in any case the house could have been let again and have new tenants who don't know your new address. Why didn't you use the post redirection service?0
-
No. Of course not. She's not a post mistress.
It was your responsibility to pay for RoyalMail Forwrding timed to start when you left, and to contact other organisiatios in advance of leaving.
Having said that, it's a nice thing to do. Did you have a good or bad relationship with her?0 -
No she doesn't. She can either put it back in the post box marked 'not known at this address', save it for you to collect or forward it to you - thought he latter may well cost you or her the extra postage. You should have paid for a redirect from the post office.0

you should have set up a redirect with Royal Mail...it is a paid service.
Rather than ask the landlady to forward post you could maybe arrange to go and collect it
[not sure why you ordered parcels when you knew you were not going to be living there]0 -

Just as a matter of interest how do you expect someone to redirect a parcel? It won't go in a letter box so what do you expect her to do with it?
The doctor's appointments for the baby can't be that urgent since you have had two weeks to change your address at your doctor's.
The landlady isn't your servant to redirect your post. Parcels would have to be taken to a post office why should she do that? Did you offer to collect them from her? Or are you just entitled to have people run round after you? Your parents may have told you that you are special. You aren't. It is your job to make sure that you get any parcels you ordered are delivered to the correct address. It isn't the job of anyone else only you.
Stop contacting the landlady over this it isn't anything to do with her.0 -
Is this a wind up?0

For your information moving was a last minute thing, and as for my baby's doctor appointment, how dare you say that I don't care, I changed my address at the doctors as soon as I could, but there is a possibility that the letter could have already been sent before I changed my address. And no I do not expect people to run around after me. And the parcels I ordered have taken longer to arrive than expected and are small enough to fit through the letter box. I would offer to collect my post but she is ignoring my messages.0
