I think you may find that nobody believes you because (a)your posts are increasingly unbelievable, and (b) you are routinely offensive towards other posters in a quite unnecessary way. However, on the off chance...You did spread rumours. You brought this on yourself. You had every opportunity to keep your mouth shut in the first place. Having not done so, you then went on to make it worse. What answer are you expecting to get then? They won't believe you when you say you didn't put a name to this rumour - why should they? Nothing in your behaviour so far suggests discretion so it isn't like you have much of a reputation to uphold. And unless the guy implicated in this by someone is an idiot, there is nothing on his laptop because he'd expect it to be checked. Assuming he didn't demand that it was checked.
So, - abject apology for starting rumours, but you didn't put a name to this "person". Assuming you didn't make this whole incident up to stir up a boring day at work - because it does appear to be unbelievable.
And disabled people don't use that loo because it is private and more spacious. They do so because it is the only one that they can use. Stop being such a selfish p******.
Essentially, the chances of this actually happening to somebody so shortly after they have started posting on a website of this nature are vanishingly small. The chances, however, of someone who has recently started posted on a website of this nature feeling the need to make something like this up in order to have something to say are fairly large.0 -

Spoke to my suporvisor who gave me time offline so I can read through the HR Public info folder and cobble together a defense. I found a load of juicy rules and regulations that I can use.
I learned that if Toiletman goes down the bullying/harassment path stating that I've created a hostile work environment for him then it can be classed as gross misconduct and I could be fired on the spot. I'll try to avoid that one.
I spoke to the manager who had been doing the statements and told him I'd like the one given on monday omitted as it was given under false pretenses, I didn't know that I was being implicated in anything and didn't have a real chance of defending myself from the accusations. I then asked him what I was being accused of (via email) and he said that because the information spread like wildifre that they're looking to make an example out of me (paraphrased).
He said he's firmly on my side (which is good to know) and can take my time writing up a new statement regarding all of the events and do it on works time. Manager told me not to worry too much as the most he thinks I'll get is a little slap on the wrist, but I'm ardent that I'm not being the fallguy for this.
I've gathered a lot of information regarding contractual terms of employment, disciplinary procedures and reasons for actions taken. I've found some very juicy stuff in the 'misuse of IT equipment' section of the HR folder, and the victimisation section of the bullying/harassment passages too.
I'm going to speak to ACAS soon, but I've not said anything/done anything more regarding my involvement today.0 -
Bear in mind, if HR want to make an example out of you and you have not been there 2 years then it can still very easily still go their way. If you are contacting ACAS ill assume you've been there 2+ years.
see how it goes, good luck.0 -

I am confident in predicting at this point that you will gallantly fight your corner, dazzle everyone with your intellectual brilliance and grasp of the law, and in the end everyone who has opposed you will be sacked and you will be promoted and chaired round the building while everyone sings "For he's a jolly good fellow".
That's what you will claim, anyway.0 -

That's what you will claim, anyway.Yes. I didn't think it was true, but decided to give the benefit of the doubt. Now I know it isn't true. What is it about people that they are just so stupid that they give it all away? Can't they stop themselves?
