Virgin Media Deadlock with CISAS

in Credit cards
As long-time customer of Virgin Media I wished to take them with me to my new address when I moved as I still had a few months left to run on my contract, however my new landlord would not allow a new hole to be drilled into the outer wall to give access to VM's cables. VM have now charged me an early cancellation fee which I dispute as it is not my fault I cannot receive their services, however they point out I "willingly" agreed to their terms whereby they will charge a cancellation fee if I break the contract. I have escalated the matter to CISAS but VM are still adamant I must pay. Anyone else had a similar situation?

Quite possibly. But it would seem their charge is appropriate.
It's certainly not their fault you won't allow installation.0 -
Wow, what a misuse of CISAS. This is why we pay so much - each such escalation costs the ISP ~£300.
You chose to move, you chose a house with a LL that wouldn't allow install, it's entirely down to you not them, the charge is valid.0 -

What does this have to do with credit cards? It would be better on a more appropriate board, probably one of the Phones & TV sub-boards. Although I think you're wasting your time and ours, as already explained.0

This isn't Virgin Media's problem nor CISAS's.0

You can receive their services, not their fault your LL won't allow them to provide them. Your LL should pay the cancellation fee.0

I was in a similar situation. I bought a house and the street wasn't cabled at the time so I had to pay the early cancellation fee. The frustrating thing is virgin cabled the street 3 months after we moved in, just a pity they never mentioned this. However it was my choice to move, so I paid. The OP is wasting his time. He had a contract for a fixed time, if ending it early (irrespective of why) then virgin have the right to charge a ETF0

It's not the OP who won't allow installation.
It's the OP's landlord who won't allow it.0 -
He is their customer. Virgin don't care who else he needs to consult.
He is the one who tells Virgin they can install or not. He's told them they can't.0
