Complete on tuesday still waiting to exchange NOW though

Options
We are supposed to exchange today - I have agreed to complete on Tuesday.. This was advised as the buyers lender wouldn't agree to release funds to the buyer til they had a completion date.

We are supposed to exchange today.

I have chased both EA & Solicitors - The buyer sent the deposit 2 days ago. Her solicitor say's they haven't received.

I have asked both my solicitor & EA to chase but nothing is happening and neither solicitors or EA are answering me.

My buyers have messed me about twice already.

I wanted to exchange so I could rest easy it isn't happening everything can still go t*** up and again I end of losing out...

Am I panicking over nothing

Please tell me it will be ok

That seems a little odd, normally the solicitor advises the lender when they require the mortgage funds to be availabel for completion, and the lender normally requires a minimum of 5 working days notice

How was the deposit sent to the solicitor? If they sent it using a bacs transfer it may not be through yet, if they used chaps something has gone wrong. Or your buyer is fibbing about when they sent it.

Keep trying. However, it's now gone 3pm on a Friday before a Bank Holiday weekend.

It might be ok, but I would say it is unlikely that you'll be completing on Tuesday if you've not yet exchanged.

Completion is only agreed at exchange. It will work out I'm sure - it's a stressful business - good luck!

Until the deposit money arrives then nothing will happen. Being a Friday. Solicitors and the EA are no doubt dealing clients that are completing today.

Not a great time to exchange - before a bank hol - if completion was set for Tues. Bit late now though...

How did they send the deposit?

They could be stalling, but hopefully it's a simple problem. Keep us informed.

My last conversation at 2.30 with solicitor was they expect me to complete on tuesday..

I said but anything can happen between now and then and I end up in a mess with removal/new house etc and losing money etc she said yes you do..

"We are waiting for the buyer's solicitor to get back to us"

I said so I shouldnt expect to complete on tuesday

She said "Well if you do that then it will be put back again as the lender wont release there funds"

Are you currently living in the property being sold?

    Are you purchasing another property?

    Hi

I am living in the property I am selling

    and moving into rented.

My buyers should of exchanged about 5 weeks ago they didn't and I lost a holding deposit.

My buyers should of signed there contract twice and didn't turn up both times.

I was advised by my EA that after the last time they really really wanted the property. And they thought they were genuine

Sounds like you've already signed up for a rental property then.

Has there been any further word from you solicitor?
