Restaurant refund??

We had an appalling experience at a restaurant we visited today, which we asked for a refund for but the owner refused and became extremely aggressive - to the point that the man standing next to us gave us his name and number and offered to be a witness for us. But is there anything that we can do? I've spent all evening feeling het up, anxious and angry and now I can't sleep - which is ridiculous, but it's playing on my mind and I really want to do something about the way we were treated, and perhaps prevent it from happening to anyone else. Anyone have any advice?

I was about to reply thinking that something was wrong with the food so you had not eaten them and yet were still charged, but upon rereading, I realise you said you had an appalling experience. You also said you asked for a refund - implying you had already paid (only restaurants I know that pre-charge for food is your fast food places and places like wetherspoons). Can you provide more detail please?

When you say "asked for a refund" do you mean you refused to pay the bill or paid the bill then subsequently changed your mind?

    What exactly happened?

You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

3 things to do if this ever happens again:

    Don't leave a tip.
    Never eat there again.
    Leave a review on Tripadvisor.

What you don't do is ask for your money back. Was the food good?

Giving op the benefit of the doubt, after my somewhat pithy post, what was wrong with the meal?

Was it the food? The service?

There isn't enough info to go on. The restaurants where you pay upfront tend to be at the cheaper end of the market and not much to write home about. What sort of place was this?
