Three PAYG topup Free Data Allowance
When you topup your PAYG account you get a "Free Allowance" of data .
This used to be 150MB for every topup whatever the value.
This has recently been reduced to 10MB.
No notification has been sent about this change.
Three say :
"complimentary data that we've been offering as we were not charging anything for this free data, therefore no notifications were updated for this. Notifications are only being sent when any changes in made to tariff, type or allowance of add on."
They also have not changed their T&C page which still says 150MB of free allowance per topup
http://www.three.co.uk/terms-conditions/pay-as-you-go-terms-conditions
I think the fact that the 150MB was "free" is irrelevant to the fact that it forms part of the PAYG tariff and 1 months notice should have been posted.
I have complained and got given a one-off free 500MB of data.

Three seem to often give customers a little extra when they complain, when I used their PAYG for my main mobile, I once received a £10 top up for free when I complained about the local site being down for a couple of days.
Talking of notice periods, I'm a Three contract customer and should have been given 30 days notice of their changes to EU roaming which comes into play on 15th June... I've not heard a thing, there's nothing on their web pages and their customer service people don't seem to know either... Most (all) of the other networks have already published their changes.0 -

If, overall, the change is of benefit to the consumer then there is no need for any notice period. In fact Ofcom suggests the change should happen automatically and immediately.
Of course it would be courteous to notify you.0 -

FWIW I had a text message with lots of info including this link:
http://www.three.co.uk/feel-at-home/
(It's the updated FAH page.)
I use FAH a lot, we travel to Spain several times a year. The above link has not been updated to cover "free" EU roaming which comes into being on 15th June.
There was a link, posted elsewhere on this forum by "Roger1" to a PAYG Three site suggesting Three PAYG customers roaming in the EU could make local calls at the same cost as calls in the UK and they could use a hotspot too.

I don't understand why contract customers haven't received info, unless the above site is a windup by someone other than Three.0 -

Missed that - did do a search before posting tho !0 -
I think three have now made another unannounced change, limiting the usage period of free data from 30 days to just 2. Without (at the time) appreciating the point I was actually raising, I queried on live chat why my data allowance had disappeared and received a 7 day credit and a very misleading answer implying that there had been an isolated issue with my top-up.0

Thanks, BlackLodge.
This would explain why I have no data allowance from my PAYG top up of a few days ago. Pity they didn't tell me.0 -
Iv just topped up£10 on my payg,and now i get 150mb free 2 use over 2 days0
