Let the girls know your plans, so as they can confirm they are suitable. I am sure the celiac and dairy free bridesmaids would not object to providing suitable versions of bread and milk for themselves. Certain breakfast items may have gluten or dairy hidden in them and they may be able to suggest suitable alternatives to save embarrassment and make your day easier.

Please be careful of cross-contamination - eg if you cook gluten-free sausages with gluten-containing ones the gluten-free ones aren't gluten-free any more. Also second-dips in the butter, jam etc with breadcrumby knives - individual pots gets round that.

Some coeliacs can't eat oats. I agree with others who have said to check with the people concerned, if you can.
  • Can you recommend a brand and place to buy thin rice cakes?

I'd go with waffles, ready made or home-made - either would be fine by me. You can make gluten and dairy free ones (I've had ones that were made with almond flour I think and they were really nice) or you may be able to buy them. Offer a variety of toppings - bacon and maple syrup (I have Tesco's veggie bacon which isn't quite 'right' but still nice, chocolate, fruit, jams etc.

I don't have anything useful to add to the excellent suggestions so far. Certainly buffet type things are the way to go but remembering that there is only one gluten free, one vegatarian, one dairy free and only 2 eat-anythings, it would be sensible not to overdo things. They will all be too excited to eat a lot anyway.

It occurs to me how much things have changed on the catering scene. I started a lunch club at the local church about 20 years ago. I cooked the same meal every week and the only one among about 60 people who had to have special consideration was a diabetic gentleman.
I am still cooking for the church lunch club but now as well as the main meal we have to cater for vegetarians, vegans, gluten-free, dairy-free, fat-free, onion-free and diabetics. It's a minefield.

I don't know whether they want something fancy or are more interested in something which will keep them going but porridge (you can get gluten-free and make it with non-dairy milk for the coeliac) is a good way to set people up for the day. It also fills you up without eating a vast quantity of food, always good under slinky wedding/bridesmaid's dresses.
OBJECTION! It also bloats you out, not a good look under fitted clothes.

Stick to fruit platter, easy and will suit everyone.

Which goes to show just how different everyone is, and why it's a good idea to check what people want to eat, as I'm far more likely to bloat with fruit than porridge.

I got them from our local co-operative, and thought they were Kallo. They don't appear on their website at the moment, but I googled and loads came up. I am sure that I have had Susie's (the packet looks familiar).
Sorry not to be more helpful.

    Are you the bride?

I would do a 'bring your own' favourite breakfast dish so that everybody gets something they can eat and that they like and nobody (especially the bride!) is lumbered with providing a breakfast for differing requirements or has the responsibility of getting it wrong.

Lordy! I'd hope the bride wasn't faffing about with cooking breakfast for people....
If it is the bride, she's certainly not a bridezilla. :)
