  • Slam a couple of Snorkers under the grill and put them between to pieces of buttered bread. Margarine and vegetarian Snorkers are also available!

I'd be inclined to find out from each of them what they consider to be "breakfast". It's such a variable thing, with some folks wanting a big plate full of fried food, and others like myself only wanting a handful of bran flakes and a dollop of unflavoured yogurt, and all the stages in between those extremes.

BOP I have no idea what "Snorkers" are. :o

I agree with some of the other posters.

It really does make sense to ask what people want to eat and what they can eat.

Are you wanting it to be a surprise?

Kedgeree - this traditionally has fish (usually smoked haddock).

I had to look that up too! What a strange word.

I think it would help if we knew what sort of time this breakfast is to be served. Is it a quick something early before hairdresser/make up? Or is it more of a brunch to last until a sit down meal later in the day?

I'm surprised you mentioned 'staining'. Surely they won't be wearing their outfits when they eat?

I'm another who thinks you should ask for favourites. If the bride has said no eggs why not ask what she would like?

P.S. Linda McCartney Rosemary and Onion sausages are delicious. Do they count as 'snorkers'?

I wondered that. I'd be guaranteed to drop something on my outfit - wouldn't dare eat or drink once the posh clothes were on. :)

When my daughter got married recently, I had the local cafe deliver bacon and eggs etc.

    The boys ate in :)

None of us were in our finery, busy getting hair and make up done. The dresses went on 10 mins before we left the house. Getting it all delivered wasn't money saving, but stress saving. The trays were put on a low heat in the oven and who ever showed up was directed to the kitchen

Protein was the order of the day, no eggs or beans required, very little bread, many a lass walking around eating a slice of bacon or a sausage between her fingers

Rice cakes are like marginally-edible polystyrene!

As there are so many variables, I'm another one who says to ask the people involved.

Oh Mojisola, we agree on so much! Whilst I would personally prefer ordinary toast, I find rice cakes surprisingly pleasant, but I do get the thin ones.

I would go for freshly squeezed OJ; freshly brewed coffee;pancakes (use oat milk instead of dairy); breakfast parfait, given it's a special day; granola cups with banana cream and of course porridge.

Of course, you could always skip the food and go straight for the Buck's Fizz or Mimosas ;).
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
