Eek! I used to have a Supercard but it didn't work anyway..I have had Monzo and just started using Starling which I love - it's a current account, so there's no need to top up, service is superb too. :T

Curve is a Supercard-style proxy card with the features Supercard offered. Mastercard fx rate +1% and flat fee of £2 for cash withdrawals, but without the need to add funds.

Is this pretty much the same as the Supercard except for the two rates mentioned?

So foreign cash withdrawals are MasterCard exchange rate + £2, which is posted as a purchase on the funding credit card so there won't be any high cash advance rates associated from the credit card side? That's one thing I loved about the Supercard
  • Is Curve business users only? I just failed the application via the app :(

My Monzo card arrived with 48 hours and have already used it. All looks spot on so far.
  • Starling looks good? Any users here?

I want something as close to the same as the Supercard as possible, primarily for fee-less overseas transaction. I don't want a card I have to top-up, I just want to be able to link my card to my existing debit/credit cards.

Monzo is a top up card by the looks?

AFAIK there is no exact equivalent to the Supercard. You can use Curve to link to your other cards but there are fees.

Yes, although you don't have to be a business user to get a card. :rotfl:

    Hi Traveller,

Recently, we incorrectly sent you an email about our “New” Australian Travelex Money Card. This was sent in error so we wanted to say sorry for cluttering your inbox with something that isn’t relevant for you.

We have identified the cause of this error and are reviewing our processes to avoid it happening again.

We appreciate that this may have caused you some concern. Please be assured that Travelex is confident that there has been no loss or compromise of your personal or financial information.

Due to the nature of this technical error you would have been unable to unsubscribe from a link in that email, but please be assured that this was a one-off incident, Travelex respects your communication preferences and you will receive no further such emails from Travelex.

    Not quite.

    And spot the difference.

I've received over 25 emails from them in the last two months, about other products besides the several ones about their Australian card.

Several of these emails are to addresses I already unsubscribed with a few weeks ago.

Someone is supposed to be phoning me back about this, to actually unsubscribe me, as the ordinary customer services person wasn't willing or able to do so.

Flashback: when they first launched Supercard in trial or beta I installed the app and subscribed to the mailing list. Nothing happened. A few months later I subscribed again, with (it turns out) a slightly different email address.

In the end I had 3 subscriptions, but no emails about Supercard.

About a year ago they eventually started emailing me, but about other products, with 3 copies of each, hence why I tried to unsubscribe 2 of them.

I am mystified about the conduct of this company. It's about on a par with a car insurer which sends me a postcard every year inviting me to get a quote, but originally for 2 years in a row they declined to even quote my so-called high risk high value car (a Citroen Xantia diesel).

I've just applied and been accepted for the Barclaycard Travel Card to replace my Supercard. No ATM fees and no fees on cash withdrawals or purchases as long as the balance is paid off by the statement date, this is an introductory rate but runs until 2022. This is better for me as I used the Supercard solely for purchases and my Nationwide FlexPlus debit for cash previously. Now I only need to use one card instead of two.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Thank you for bringing the Travel card to my attention, in an unrelated topic, Barclay's AmEx 1% cashback card is coming to an end so I have asked them to move me onto this Platinum Travel card as it sounds perfect for my one country a month needs.
