in Credit cards
Just received a letter from Travelex today informing me that the Supercard is being withdrawn from the market. It will stop working from Monday 24th July 2017.
I know it's slipped down the rankings over the past 12-18 months as one of the better cards to use, but I still used it to buy online as it charged back to my other credit card. It meant that I didn't have to worry about logging in to yet another c/card account or organising payment of that card too.
The reason appears to be the cost of running the card and delivering the service to customers has outweighed what Travelex expected; hence their decision to close.
I was a Beta user and then a full user when it launched. It was a decent card for me. It's a shame it's going.

I loved it since you didn't have to keep topping up and it'd just take amount from your debit card
Is there such alternative? Not ones like Revolut which require top up before hand.

It was absolutely brilliant when it was in Beta, I couldn't fault it. Unfortunately I had so much trouble with the fully launched one (declines, security 'issues' requiring me to prove my details, DNA, blood type etc.) that I binned it off shortly after it fully launched, in favour of Curve and the other forex free cards I already held.
Shame, as it had a lot of potential, but I can see why they've withdrawn it. Even as a beta, I imagined they must've been bearing some significant costs.0 -

Creation Everyday https://credit-card.creation.co.uk/microsites/creation_everyday/
No fees.
Alternatively, I believe the Santander Zero is available to new customers again.0 -
I just found out through logging into the app, I am saddened by this news, I thought the card was really good since it allowed me to link various other cards (credit/debit). Indeed it was annoying when major chains were declining me but as it's a proxy card, it doesn't allow pre-authorized or offline transactions. I too was a beta user before a full user when they relaunched, I thought it was really going places. I will have a look at the Creation card as suggested.0

Totally agree, exactly my experiences. Good riddance IMHO.0
