    Morning all,

Dumpling my catering skills aren't that good....They never have been. Unfortunately the only thing hubby likes is a traditional roast and mash hence my cooking skills are limited. I used to bake lots when the kids were little but I've lost the knack now.

Child care day for me today. Not for much longer as my daughter is nearing the end of her pregnancy so will be on maternity leave soon and she's hoping to have the full 12 months off....by this time he will be at school but no doubt I'll be asked to have my Granddaughter.

Just a few bits and pieces to do in the house today.

Speky When is the house-warming party?

Happy birthday AOD. I hope you have a lovely day.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

    Morning

Happy Birthday AOD hope you have a lovely day and your work colleagues appreciate you working on your special day..seems to me cake would be order :)

Congratulations on another pound Dumpling :T

Picking the medical certificate up from the hospital this morning then hopefully I wont see that awful place again for a very long time if ever. On then to register the death...I cant believe how much stuff they require to register. Luckily mum and dad were pretty organised so I have been able to get my hands on everything I need. Made me think about my own lack of organisation and if anything was to happen to me they would really struggle to find everything needed so after all this calms down I am going to tackle that.
Ordered 8 extra certificates as everyone needs an original copy..32 quid for that pleasure. Hoping that the Tell Us Once service is working today apparently it has been out of action for a while in this particular office ...it would be so much easier if it is I didn't realise how many different places need to know.

Last night I was pulling together some photos for the funeral and whilst it was really emotional it was also lovely to relive some of the amazing memories with my Dad. A good friend of mine is pulling together a montage from all my facebook pictures of him to use for the wake.

Think I am in control of what I need to at the moment but it really is stressful doing all of this on my own. I do wish they had had another 10 kids lol. Also leaves no time to grieve which is maybe a good thing I dont know but all I do know is I dont seem to feel anything at the moment which is confusing.

Hope you all have a good day particularly AOB

Morning everyone, thanks for the thread nmlc.

Happy Birthday AOD hope you have a lovely day x

Bright and sunny here, already warm, WM is on and I will be looking around for other stuff to wash :)
We both really enjoyed the play last night, very funny but with a clear message underneath, we took our own bottle of water and sweeties so very mse :money:
It's a big day today for little Tilly dog as she is being spayed, she is most put out that I seem to have missed her when dishing out breakfast but is due in at 9.30 so it's been water only since last night.

Hope you get through making all the arrangements Nelski the tell us once service is very good when it works and certainly saved me a lot of hoop jumping. Thinking of you x

Have a good day everyone, take care folks x

    Happy birthday AOD.

Nelski, I'm the same, I go into coping mode and the feelings take a while to hit, somebody has to be the strong one!

Glad you're back and happy Speky.

Well done on the weight loss dumpling.

Sorry if I've missed anyone with special news, I've been reading but not posting. I'm still a bit shocked about the news from Manchester, growing up nearby. In fact one of the young victims attended the 6th form college I used to go to.

I'm on the Wirral at the moment but heading back o Yorkshire his morning. I went with SiL to a beautiful garden yesterday - Abbeywood near Tarporley, thoroughly recommended for anyone near enough to go. Lovely cafe as well.

DH went back home by train but will be back up to Skipton tomorrow. Unfortunately he will miss the man from Yorkshire Water who is coming to survey the leaking supply. I asked him to send the questions he wants me to ask but I've no doubt I'll be lacking in the follow up front.

Hugs to Nelski ,well done honey and you are right its often something you just don't think about the organisation of everything. I have a book with everything in it tight down to my passwords and where everything is for my DDs I also wrote a letter to each of them to read after I have gone and they are both sealed and put in my filing cabinet along with my will.
Life is cruel at times but the circle of life goes on and sadly death comes to visit us all at some point.

Today so many sad people will wake up and it will be another day without the ones they love, but life does go on, you just have to adjust to a different life.I hope you find peace honey xxx

Mid week already and another month will soon be over ,the weather at least in the south has perked up a bit and 23c and upwards if forecast.Youngest DD has some physio this morning for her Plantar Fasciitis feet. She has been in a lot of pain over the past few months and has got the inserts into her shoes at last from the hospital. She says she will pop in afterwards for a cuppa.
Not much planned at the moment a general pottering day with some poppy knitting thrown in
Happy Birthday to AOD hope you have a good one.

Take care everyone and be vigilant out there

    Cheers JackieO xxx

P.S. Dumpling Well done you are doing amazing honey xxx
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs))))))))) if you need one and happy birthday to the birthday girl.

Nelski......you have a job to do and you are doing it, once the funeral is over you will have the time and space to grieve. Its hard, I know, but you are being so strong for your Mum. Take care and try and get as much rest as possible.

Well they say things go in threes, Manchester, Nelski's dad and then last night our neighbour phoned to say that her husband is going into the Hospice in Leicester either tomorrow or Friday. She is worn out and unable, though her own health issues, to give him the care he now requires. I really hope that it is the beginning of a peaceful end for him. He has suffered so much since this time last year. We are trying to sort out a rota to take her in to see him, its impossible to get there by bus. She would be travelling all day for half an hour with him.

Grocery shopping this morning, I went over budget, but have enough meat etc to last for a month, so it will just be a top up shop for fruit and veg. We sat in the garden drinking tea when we got back, its a glorious sunny day. OH is messing about in the garden. I will need to sort some lunch shortly.

    AOD

Happy birthday and well done on compromising on your plans. I hope you can make up for it this evening.

Just about to go out to library volunteering so had a quick lunch to tide me over. The upstairs bedroom has been plastered where the new storage has gone and is looking good.

I might get the chance to empty some boxes tomorrow and clear things up a bit, then a new chest of drawers and wardrobe is on its way and new curtains to be put up once the room has been painted.

Threw out my tatty sandals and slippers and ordered new ones in the sales and also storage boxes for all the boxed stuff once it is sorted.

    Hugs

Aww, bless her; swift recovery vibes for her; Cassie sends her woofs and licks.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
