Student Credit Card or Travel Card

Teen 2 is off to do some inter-railing in Europe this summer. She has a non-student account with HSBC, and income of approx £7k pa from her part-time job. Does anyone have a view on which might be the best credit card to apply for? I guess she could change her account to a student account and get a student CC from HSBC. Or are there better ones to apply for? Or is it better to take a travel card that I could then put money on if she got stuck somewhere?

The best card is one that charges no forex fees and she can be accepted for. One of the forex free aqua cards may be her best bet, given her circumstances.0

Is she or will she be 18+?Evolution, not revolution0

Yes she is 18. I'm just not sure whether it's better to take a CC or a pre-loaded travel card.0

Do you have a branch of Metro Bank near you? If so, that would be the easiest option to open a bank account there (takes about an hour and you get the debit card there and then):

Failing that, she could try applying for the Creation card:
