I have been with another.com for a number of years . I particularly like the fact you can have a number of aliases with a variety of names.
The company have been taken over a number of times and my subscription is noe due £24. however they want me to pay by cheque by post- does anyone kow what is going on?

This is an interesting one!
Not with them myself, but had a quick look. Their website states that they aren't accepting new signups. Apparently that has been there most of the year?
Reading between the lines it looks like another.com is actually a customer of uk2.net although some say they have taken them over. The position is unclear, really.
It seems their website and DNS servers are hosted on uk2.net
if you put this search string into Google,
another.com cheque
it produces some interesting results, particularly this one
http://forums.webhostdir.com/showthread.php?t=17639&page=4&pp=15
there appears to be the odd story where someone's domain hasn't been renewed on time and they lost it, while another had the domain cancelled and it was apparently sold on.
both another.com and uk2.net are listed at Companies House, and both appear to use accommodation addresses.
you could ring up uk2.net on the free number, see what they say

Personally, i think it all looks a bit odd. I would have thought a better approach would be to register your own domain with someone like 123-reg or 1&1 or someone else, then you can either use email forwarding with as many aliases as you want, or purchase some mailboxes. Would cost less than £24 too.0 -
Hi Sanginella,
I work for http://www.uk2.net (as you probably guessed from my truly original username) and I can confirm that Another.com have been trading successfully as part of our company since September of last year (brilliant I hear you shriek) but alas your encountering problems with regard to payment
I believe there have been some issues with our Merchant partner processing direct payments but I’m assured these have now been rectified so you can head over to http://www.another.com/payment/ and pay directly there.
I hope this has allayed your niggles! Feel free to message me if you require further assistance.UK2 Happy Chappy0 -
Interesting!
so what's the explanation for not accepting new signups since takeover, which was over a year ago, you say?
[Edit: Removed link to Banner]
and why is that payment link you gave not linked to from their website?
i can make those sort of changes to a website in less than 10 mins!0 -
Hi JayTee,
atm I'm afraid I cannot answer either of your questions as I'm being kept in the dark (even struggled to find out about the Payment issues sanginella was experiencing, furthermore I do agree with your comments on the separate payment link - it should have been rectified long ago). All I can report now is what I’ve been told which is something big is going to happen hopefully before the end of the year > direct from the CEO of UK2

Hey there Anton, Thanks for that.
Well, he's the boss, so he should know.
Hmmm... sounds intriguing; i guess we'll just have to wait and see what Santa brings

I'm really upset with another.com
They have suspended my email account because I need to renew my subscrition which is fine, but I have no reminder no bill. I been to another.com/payments twice paid twice, have 2 merchant numbers, yet i have contacted uk2.net through online chat 5 times now. They are denying another.com is anything to do with them, when I pushed the issue more they then admitted it was part of the company (another).
The live chat is no help what so ever, they keep copy pasting the same message contact billing between the hours of...It's like my payments have disappeared into thin air. I've had this email for about 5 years, and I have trouble very year. But I have an interview for teaching in Japan tomorrow and all the email prep is in this email account. I have not been able to access this the whole weekend.
Seriously worried about the conduct, is this business legit? What has happen to the payments I've made? I've not been directed to anyone I can speak to?
It's really poor. I would like to find out what's going on? I have no confidence in Another/ UK2.net at all, if they are real?? Who knows?0
