TRY being the operative word, did you bother to actually read that thread before reading it.
Turned out to be someone with no site.
It is not clear whether site is purely HTML or a CMS with a back end Database.
yes also google how to backup a 1&1 site and plenty come up if its a WP site. trouble with 1&1 is they have their own control panel.
if it was cpanel or directadmin it would be easy to explain show how to use their inbuilt backup system0
