Can I ride a Moped
Hello,
I plan to (eventually) get a motorcycle (650cc+). For that, I do understand that I need a full motorcycle licenses. However, for now, I wanted to find out if I can ride a moped <50cc without any additional requirements. My current car licenses has the following categories on it:
B, B1, fkp
It was issued in July, 2009. I was under the impression that 'p' allows me to ride a moped. However, someone told me that I need to get a learner license and also take a CBT before I can ride a moped.
Thank you for any help.

A full driving license allows you to ride a 50cc moped without any requirements.
The question is why would you want to? 50cc and 25-30 mph (less on an incline) and you become a hazard to yourself and other road users. Riding a moped is nothing like driving a car. Get your CBT for £100 or so and you will learn on the day how to handle a moped/motorbike safely on the road. Then you can ride a 125cc legally.0 -

You know that's a 'less than' sign, right?0 -

Because they are a lot more expensive than a moped?0 -

If you buy the version (LT) with correctly spaced wheels, that is.0 -
If you passed your car test after 2001 you need a CBT.
If your a provisional you need a CBT.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks guys for your reply.
I know how to ride a bike (did that for years in the US) so not a problem with learning etc. However, I only have a car licenses here in the UK now.
I was fine with all the replies until I got to the last one which says I need CBT. So, do I need a CBT to ride a moped or not?
I could go and do a CBT for look for a bigger bike but then it puts me in an L plate category.I was thinking of going for a full course but I think they are like 700 quid to pass a full bike license.
For some reason DVLA site seems to confusing with different license dates etc.0
