O2 CPW disconnected, without using PAC
Hello,
I need some help.
I requested disconnection of my account on 2.9.07 in view of introduction of call charges for non-geographic numbers.
I was told by Customer services team that I will be issued PAC code within next 5 working days. When I use my PAC Code, the account will be disconnected. If I do not use my PAC code, the account will stay connected.
I never received PAC, so my account remained active till this morning when it was disconnected. (I have not used my PAC, so in principle the account should never have disconnected).
I want my account to remain active or get PAC, so that I can port my number.
I want earliest resolution of this problem,as this is my main contact number.
Any suggestions from fellow money savers in this matter?
Thanks

Don't know what's going on at the moment, but I tried porting my number from O2 Retail to O2 Online on Friday and had a nightmare.
On friday, as expected, my old sim was switched off and I thought great, I should have the number transferred over in a couple of hours. I waited all night and it didn't happen.
The next day I phoned O2 and they said it should have gone through so they escalated the problem. Waited, waited and waited but no sign of the number coming over. Today I rang O2 again and spoke to someone else who confirmed problem had been escalated and he would action an enquiry form and get back to me. A couple of hours ago, thankfully, the number was transferred!
Well I definately think that O2 are doing something wrong due to all these people that asked to cancel due to the 08 number charge. Maybe they are mixing it up with people that asked for the PAC code as well?0 -
The majority of CPW staff are being bloody-minded re 08 number diconnections. My contract ended yesterday in theory, ( 30 days after giving notice in writing!), yet still no view of the much promised pac text, so even if it arrives today they will get at least 7 more days money from me and cancelling the dd could end up with black marks on my credit ratings.
I would email them from "my account" if it is still on the website, there is a pac email header in the "contact us" otherwise call them using Saynoto alternative number. It is possible to leave without a pac being issued, as this was offered to me today when complaining, I declined . The excuse on Saturday was were very busy as a lot are leaving, but I would get it in 48 hrs, today that was revised to 72 hrs.
For me two letters, four emails and five long calls has not resolved much. I was told the other day that the terms had not been broken, but out of the goodness of their heart they would let me leave because of my dissatisfaction, without penalty!
Diary,
31/8 posted letter requesting disconnection without penalty.
11/9 sent again recorded delivery as no response to above.
18/9 emailed from account as to why still no response.
20/9 received apology, saying due "system error" logged as in-contract dis with penalty. It seems they received the 1st letter.
20/9 repllied requesting date of pac issue, no reply.
24/9 received letter with demand for payment for remaining contract months (8), phoned them and they said mistake corrected and disconnection will be 30/9, pac to be issued before then ( beginning to loose all trust.)
26/9 phoned as to when pac issued, say it will be 7 days after diss logged (21/9), so will be 28th
29/9 asked where pac is? "will be issued in 48 hrs", reply not printable.
1/10 phone twice and emailed, !!!!!! is pac?, "sorry you were misinformed it is 72 hrs"! exploded.
Multiply that delay for hundreds of customers and CPW is on a nice little earner.ac's lovechild0
