Orange contract problems

1st time poster so apols if this has been done a few times before.

My usual phone bill is around £35-£40. Got this months and its £90

Had a look at the bill summary and theyve removed my 500 free txts but all other parts of the service plan(free minutes/internet usage) remain. Rang up to query it and they said it was an 18 month 'promotion' as part of my service plan. Didnt get angry with the guy on the other end of the phone as im not sure what good that does and to be perfectly honest i was struggling to understand what he was saying a lot of the time.

Been told by friends to not pay it/ring up and kick up massive fuss etc. But done know if legally ive got a case. I dont have my original contract so cant refer to that neither.

I was going to leave them anyway now the original 18 month contract is up but imagine the only way they will resolve it is if I re-new my contract with them.

Anyone with any advice/experience of this and a way to get around it?

It sounds about right, my contract with orange is an 18 month one with a discounted price, this will go back to the normal price after the 18 months are up.

Think you will have to pay the bill but get straight onto retentions and negotiate a new contract with a new phone.
