Is it a win or spam? Please help!

Options
Hi guys,

I received a call from 0203 621 0300 (and a text from 07786208080), claiming that I've won a MAC makeover and photoshoot for myself and a friend. He mentioned that he's based at Southbank studios in London, I think...but it's not a London number?

In the end, he asked for my card details (excluding the security number) for a £50 deposit, which apparently will be refunded on the day. Is there any way of knowing if this is legitimate or spam? I've googled the number with no success.

Thank you!

Sounds suspicious to me. If you've won something you shoudnt need to pay any deposit?? Maybe someone else can shed some light on it

Usually there are loads of that type of "offer" about and they are generally not wins they just want to get you into the studio so they can give you the "hard sell" to buy the photographs.

I agree with mjm, you may find reports of people finding it very difficult to leave without buying some very expensive photos if you google it.

I won a make over and photo shoot last year and refused to pay the £50 deposit. They said it was just in case we did not turn up but I reminded them it was a prize and they had been paid, in full, by the prize provider so it did not matter if we turn up or not. We did get the hard sell but refused to purchase any further photos.
