Can I keep email addresses if leaving Sky?

I am looking to completely ditch my Sky TV, Broadband & Telephone and move to another provider. Can anyone tell me the following. Can I keep and use all of the Sky Email addresses that I and my family have if I bin Sky? If so, is there anything I need to do to make sure we don't lose these addresses?

Just make sure everyone logs in to their account every 5 months otherwise they suspend the account (prior to deleting them)

(This is the current situation - can't be guaranteed not to change in the future)

    As above .
You don't own the rights so be aware you may lose access at anytime .
Time to transfer to a non ISP email provider like GMail etc .

Sky is almost unique in allowing you to do this without charge-it can't last.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I have two @onetel.com email addresses that still work - not been with them for about ten years!

    Do they still exist? :)

It's the inability to keep email addresses that stops me from switching - its all very well suggesting using a gmail address but I have an extensive list of contacts that use my aol address.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • Thanks to everyone for the info, It's the thought of all my contacts, email history and people who i may have lost details for in the past that make me very wary of switching, but I appreciate your advice.
