How to Hang a Mirror Without Screws

  • I find it strange that it "holds strong" but "cleanly removes", so how can it be strongly attached to the wall?

The tabs stick to the wall and 4 large ones will hold up to 7.2KG.

To remove them, they have a small tab that you pull downwards - this stretches the sticky pad and causes it to release from the surface it's adhered to.

glue sticks to [uncleaned wall part, delete if you've cleaned the wall -the muck on the wall, the muck on the wall sticks to] the paint / paper, paint / paper sticks to the plaster, plaster sticks to the brickwork. The strength of the hanging is the strength of the weakest bond.

The same applies to the mirror. The back of the glass is silvered and then a protective coating covering that, but I doubt either are substantial enough to support the weight of the mirror.

Could you fix a batten to the wall using screws in places you know there are no wires behind, and then fix it to said batten?

Alternatively do the same without the batten, if you know where to screw?

Is there some kind of device you can use to looks for electrics behind the wall? I know you can get stud finders.

To glue a mirror to a wall - use a mirror adhesive - which is designed to do the job.

Or, if the positioning doesn't work for a batten, run a picture rail along the whole wall & hang it from that

Why not stand/lean it on a shelf underneath, if you can locate where the wires are that bit further down?
