I then got a small claims form a few weeks ago.
What was the date of issue on the court papers? did you acknowledge service of the papers? If you didn't, and they were issued 'a few weeks ago', you may well have a CCJ against your name now, and possibly your credit rating trashed.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yes, I followed the instructions on here - //dropbox.com/s/xvqu3bask5m0zir/money-claim-online-How-to-Acknowledge.pdf?dl=0 - which gave me another two weeks I believe. My defense is due by next week, but I don't know what to argue/how to defend it.

    Thanks for your reply.

Look at the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 where there will be links to various defences, read through some of those as a starting point for you to draft your own.

Post your draft for critique here - but leaving things as late as this hardly gives anyone much time to help, and there are only a couple here with experience of helping fine-tune defences.
