Halifax share dealing

Ok, the fact that your mums investments are in OIECs possibly rules out my idea of using a platform which doesn't charge a platform fee, or where some criteria is met.

These sorts of platforms (no fee, for example TD Direct) only work if you are invested in shares, ITs, or ETFs; usually OIECs will incur a platform fee.

I moved away from Halifax as whenever the market was moving fast, their systems crashed; then their phone lines had a 45 minute or longer wait; got totally fed up with not being able to deal when I wanted. No such problems with AJ Bell, x-o, or TD Direct.

Having to switch my mum's ISA after Bell's large price increase and her introduction bonus period runs out. They are one of the low cost platforms that do power of attorney.

I haven't had a dividend paid on time for over a year. It accrues in my income account and does not get transferred to the cash account. This means that I do not have access to my money as only Halifax can transfer it across. This is in spite of me telling them of the problem last year and recently complaining again. They will not give me an estimate of when this will be fixed and it isn't the first time this has happened either. Apparently they have a spreadsheet of accounts that do not work automatically and I wasn't even on the spreadsheet!
