How to use Roku on Analogue TV
Comments
-
Thanks David. I had great hopes of achieving this with my collection of cable connectors but feeling dispirited now. TV model is a LG RZ32LZ55.
I signed up for Sky's broadband/phone 1 year deal and was going to give up and sign up for their discounted TV package but just noticed that it is for a minimum of 18months which would leave me with 6 months of price hiked broadband/phone. It is a landmine when you are trying to reduce costs without knowledge base to out skill subscription suppliers.0 -
If all you want are the Freeview channels, and you already have a working analogue TV, then why not simply obtain a used Freeview box, of the kind that we all had before we upgraded to TV's with digital tuners? They were less than £20 when new, now probably from free to a fiver? No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Yes!!!!!! That's my TV except that on the back right side, above the two white and red audios I have three DVD in components a red and blue labelled P and a Green labelled Y. This is the reason I did not know how to attach the red yellow and white connector cable recommended above as I did not have a yellow connection. As a new user I am not being allowed to post links
I bought the Roku 2400 LT from ceX as I could not get a buy it now price and for some reason a SCART to 3xRCA Triple phono composite AV adaptor converter,
Thank you for time given to help me, It is very unexpected and greatly appreciated0 -
How has this thread become so complicated?
You need this; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scart-Adaptor-Phono-Sockets-Audio/dp/B000L1LY58/ref=pd_bxgy_107_img_2 which you claim to have already.
If the model is a Roku LT 2400EU(is it?), it should support PAL. But even if it is not, it shouldn't matter as the TV will support both PAL and NTSC.
Manual here: http://www.lg.com/uk/support/support-product/lg-RZ-32LZ55
If you are still having issues after connecting 3.5mm to SCART;
- turn TV off.
- Unplug cables from TV/Roku
- Do a factory reset (on Roku) - Use a paper clip to press and hold button on the back of the Roku for at least 30 seconds.
- wait 10 min
- unplug power cord from Roku
- plug back cables to TV/Roku
- Plug back power cord to Roku
- turn TV on

Do not succumb to Sky whatever you do, even when your year of BB is up check the prices on here
Why should they not ?
Some have haggled very good phone/broadband deals with Sky and you can't argue that my under £6/ month for Boxed Sets and Cinema is not a good deal, worth having .0 -
yes!!! That's my TV. The only difference is that on the back, right hand side. above the red and white audios I have three DVD IN components, a red and blue labelled P and a green labelled Y. I have purchased the Roku 2400 LT, the 3rca phono av audio video cable red, yellow, white. I was unsure where to connect this as there is no yellow connection on TV. As I am new on here I am not allowed to post links but somehow. don't know how, I also managed to purchase a SCART to 3xRCA Triple Phono Composite AV Adaptor converter. Thank you for all the time taken to post above. Your help is really appreciated0

The Roku may or may not have RCA ports. cassie13 has the correct lead for the 3.5mm four pole jack.
Once all is connected up the last step may be to make sure that in the Menu SCART is set to Composite.
I think the mistake being made is that she is plugging the phone leads into the RGB sockets.0 -

Here's a weekly blog that highlights new channels; http://ukrokuchannels.blogspot.co.uk
There are thousands of channels from which to choose. Some public, some private.
That should keep you busy for some time.
Just click through Older Posts at the bottom of each page to view the week before.
You have to wade through the the first paragraphs before seeing the channels towards the bottom of the page. Alternatively, you can click on the links on the right hand side of the page.0 -
I use a HDMI-RGB converter to connect my Sky & Apple TV boxes to an old plasma display.
If you only want the free channels, a Sky box will work fine assuming you have a dish, of course!).0
