Who are the cheapest mobile calls with?

My mobile contract is coming to an end, and I know there are cheaper deals out there. The cheapest so far I found was recommended by a friend who told me to go to heaperbills4you.co.uk where mobile calls are only 8 pence to mobiles and landlines anytime of day. When I am paying 30 pence per minute now this seems like a good deal, but can anyone let me know who does cheaper calls than this before I decide to switch?

Welcome. You'll find plenty of deals involving cashback of a large chunk of the dealer commission on several threads around here. Usually this cashback comes several months into the contract.

Historically there have been problems with this as one or two firms have gone broke, but if you use large and well-known or recommended companies the risk will be minimised.

Depending on the type of phone you want, it is possible to get a year's contract that averages costs of only a few pounds a month after cashback. As I say, take a look at promising thread titles to get a few ideas.
  • Really - depends what you want - how many minutes/texts/phone etc - there are some excellent deals out there at present - mostly through cashback. As Andy says - if you stick with the established sites you should minimise the risk.

One excellent deal at present is the Nokia 6230i - for an effective £95 for the year through Onestopphoneshop (part of CPW) - its 200xnet mins with Vodaphone.

Othe excellent deals presently running are listed in this thread.

However - if you're looking for above 200 xnet minutes pcm - O2 online tariffs are possibly the way to go at present.

It's always odd that a newbie places a first post query and goes offline straight away without waiting for any answers. Will there ever be a revisit?
  • Thanks to the guy who recommended onestopshop. Someone elses message tells me to sign up with a secure provider incase they go bankrupt? Is that a good one?
