What happens if you lose your Metro Bank debit card?

Has it ever occurred to you that all this travelling from Leeds to Derbyshire via Milton Keynes would cost you far more money than the very small amount of interest that you would pay Halifax Clarity for any cash withdrawals that you may make?
Yes, but you can offset the whole travel cost just by collecting a sufficient quantity of free dog biscuits and lollipops while you are there

It's a situation that hasn't even arisen. I'm amazed it's been seen as worth starting a thread over.0

I have lost a credit card with them and they posted a new one out to me.43580

I can tell you the answer to this because I had to report a Metro Bank debit card as lost recently. Yes Metro Bank can post a new card to you, but it takes just a little longer than some of the more established High Street banks. It was up to 5 working days to get a new card by post. IMO Metro Bank is a good provider, but if you don't have the benefit of a local branch you are losing out on some of their plus points.0

Brilliant! Thats all I wanted to know, thank you
Not living near a branch is the only downside really as they seem to offer a lot. But from what I know, it's been around since 2010, I don't know why it hasn't expanded its business any further than the South after seven years of being in operation. I think I posted a thread on here at some point last Summer asking how I could get an account living so far away from a branch, and I can remember there was a few responses from people up North saying they travelled to London for a day out and joined Metro whilst they were at it0 -
I've noticed that Mr Lawson enjoys starting threads at the slightest opportunity, and there's always a long series of responses - so I guess why not, if there's entertainment value...PeacefulWaters wrote: »It's a situation that hasn't even arisen. I managed to lose my Metro Bank card, first time it ever happened to me, and they gave me the choice of having a new one posted or getting one on the spot in a branch. I said I was going into town so I'd do the latter, but they mailed me one as well, so then I had two and had to cut one up!Evolution, not revolution0 -

I'll open a thread if I want to know the answer to something and can't find that it's been asked before. You don't get to know if you don't ask. Personally I'd rather ask real people on this website than customer services for a company, because 9/10 times real people have experienced this and will probably give me a little more information. Such as @Wednesday100 pointed out, it takes up to five days but I am missing out not living locally to a branch0 -
That's all well and good.Jlawson118 wrote: »I'll open a thread if I want to know the answer to something and can't find that it's been asked before. You don't get to know if you don't ask. But it's taking the route of vagueries of banking such as "at some point in the next three years I might want to withdraw a fifty pound note, even though I've no idea why. Can I guarantee my local branch will have one in stock?" - things that haven't happened and might never happen.
I for one find it a bit inane.0 -

If I'm honest though, that's a completely different scenario. Like if I wanted a £50 note in three years, that would be voluntary of me, and if that wasn't possible, then I've lost nothing in getting two £20 notes and a £10.
However, contemplating if I was to lose a card, that'd be involuntary, so out of my control. It either will or won't happen but I'd have less control over it than wanting a £50 note. Whereas I'm curious as to how a bank that prints its customer's cards out in a branch, would get one back to me if I lost it. I'm travelling next week and I don't know what the crime rates are where I'm going. I was mugged when I was visiting Ireland almost two years ago and had my phone stolen. Just contemplating my options if my wallet was..0
