So why didnt you then ?

Why choose collect plus over Royal Mail ?

Why not print the label off at home when you bought the service or wait until you has access to a printer ?

Im sorry but I agree with eberyone else, your down a phone and you need to replace it.
Probably believed the mantra often pushed on here that RM are expensive and unreliable.

Hopefully the OP's phone insurance covers losing the phone ?

In fairness, RM have been able to get paperwork both to and from Eastern Europe with a 4/5 day turnaround several times, at a reasonable price.

Also in fairness, they lost a parcel that was sent to Georgia a few years ago, then caused huge issues regarding an insurance claim (which was insured to £500 for what they then said was an item not covered despite both selling it and not giving me anything to say that).

I've had more good experiences with them than bad.

With CollectPlus, you have traditionally had to print your own label, before going to the shop. The shops were only able to print receipts. I assume it must be quite a new service that they offer label printing.

I tracked your parcel and it appears to be returned to sender. Have you checked it hasn't been sent to Parcel2Go?

It's apparently about a year old. They were going to return to sender it, as it didn't have the correct label on it, however they "lost" it going from the local depot to the returns depot.

I really do think at least somebody should be liable in these situations.

    Somebody is liable. You are.

I've posted something like this many times on threads such as this, but it's still relevant.

Any parcel company will lose or damage a percentage of their parcels. It's a known risk, as no person or company is perfect. As a result they will need to pay out a certain amount in compensation. The amount they have to pay is based on the average value of a parcel sent through their network - a company transporting lots of high value electronics will have to pay out much more than a company transporting lots of T-shirts, even if they send the same number of parcels and lose/damage the same percentage.

Therefore, to cover this compensation cost, the value of the parcels transported has to be a factor in the pricing charged to the consumer.

In reality any courier carries a mix of parcel values. They can split their expected compensation cost equally among all parcels - but that would put a huge levy on low-value parcels, as they'd be subsidising the compensation for high value parcels. This would make low value parcels uneconomical, the customers would flock to the competition, and the courier would rapidly end up out of business.

Instead, the couriers ask what amount of compensation you would want for your parcel going missing. They call it insurance. They then price the parcel carriage costs accordingly, so high value parcels that are going to cost them a large amount in compensation have to pay in more to the compensation pot.

Unfortunately you chose not to pay into that compensation pot, and as such are not entitled to draw out of it either.
