Appeal sent to Indigo - 14 days' "discount" on hold?

Hello, sorry for this new thread - tried to do my best to read through the FAQ but my question doesn't seem to be covered.
My question is: does an appeal submitted to Indigo (on the same day as the parking penalty) stop the clock so that I do not lose my 14 day "discount" period for as long as the appeal is being considered by Indigo?
When I made the online appeal, the system at one point suggested that is the case. But the confirmation email is silent on this topic and so are the terms and conditions etc. I called them and a not very interested guy over the phone told me that I will get my chance to pay the discounted amount for another 14 days after the rejection decision (should they reject). But I don't have any record of that. Hence my question.
Thanks and apologies for this silly question but I really cannot find the answer!

Appealing gets you a 100% discount if you follow the advice in the Newbies thread.
Why bother with any other kind of discount?0 -
As above, nobody here will advise you to pay anything. Our aim is to get you the 100% MSE discount, not the mugs discount. Follow the tried and tested two stage appeal process and pay nothing.
Never, ever 'phone the parking scammers. They tell lies and only want your money.
Was the alleged parking event at a railway station by any chance?I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
It's not a discount it's a bribe to get you to pay up without a fight or fuss, and they will refuse your appeal trust me.0

Thanks, yes it was a railway parking place. I don't really have a strong case as I forgot to pay and when I remembered on the day it was too late (tried to pay online but the system wouldn't let me, prob because a parking penalty had already been registered). I usually buy weekly tickets but it had expired and just forgot keep track. So I appealed on the grounds that it is just disproportionate given that I am paying roughly £100 a month for my parking in tickets. So for me to say that the sign was not visible etc would be a stretch. I appreciate your help (and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by the prompt responses). I believe my case is a bit damaged already as I have said that I was the driver.0

Have you received a POPLA code? If so why miss out on killing this dead by not appealing to POPLA.
With a full blown POPLA appeal (NEWBIES Sticky, post #3), Indigo tend to give up.
If you're still 'feelin da guilt' after winning at POPLA [STRIKE]send me £60[/STRIKE] make a donation to charity, rather than give it to a private company whose only purpose (and income) is to penalise people. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

You have a very strong case. It's not about what you did or didn't do it's about whether Indigo have followed the rules.
Given they don't have a clue what the rules are tend to lose at POPLA.0 -
Ha ha, fair enough, happy to make a donation
No, I don't think I have received a POPLA code. No response from Indigo yet.
I'll look into your suggestion - it sounds you are very convinced that I have chances of winning the appeal at POPLA level. I was fairly certain there is no possibility of winning given my weak position, so only hope that they will be reasonable. Not feeling too guilty as I think the penalty is a bit excessive for a guy who is parking there every day and has always paid except for this one (unintentional) exception. But then again seemed a lot of work for £60.
But to go back to my initial question - in your experience, has Indigo put on hold the 14 day mugs discount?
But just going back to my earlier question -0 -

You need to stop thinking about doing anything 'wrong'.
Use the forum search engine using 'Indigo POPLA' to read threads that confirm what I advised earlier. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

You say your position is weak. Are their signs the correct size? Is the lettering the correct height? Are there enough signs?
On to the wordage is that correct? Does it meet the BPA code of practice requirements?
Is this a byelaws case? That's a whole can of worms for them.
What about road marking?
After that their paperwork. Is that all correct? And let's not forget their contract.
Can you answer all those questions? Indigo have to if they want to win at POPLA. You don't. You just have to raise the point.0 -
Thanks Umkomaas, sure, I will do my homework and will read what has already been discussed
Sorry, do I understand correctly that the mugs discount is on hold "until their deadline for initial appeal expires or a POPLA appeal is made"?0
