Argos phone.
I know very little about phones.
I'm looking for recommendations, budget about £80.
The catch is that it needs to be available from Argos, as there are vouchers needing to be used up.
It needs to be a decent all-rounder.
The phone it will replace currently runs on a Plusnet 30 day sim.
Will be used for calls, text, data use is mainly searching for work related info, so no streaming, film watching, whatsapp etc.
I'm not ignoring you, but won't be back until Friday evening.

Move along, nothing to see.

Don'y worry about not knowing much about mobiles. People on here that purport to know a lot really don't.
If it were my money then I'd spend the extra and get the Sony XA: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/6789129
By far and away a better bet than the cheaper ones.
But if you only have the £80 then: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/6789129
The LG will be OK, and just OK...

Given a budget of around £80 I'd give the £130 Sony (plus £10 top up) a miss.
The LG K8 at £90 on Vodafone looks decent and doesn't seem to require a £10 top up as opposed to the £5 cheaper EE version (although Plusnet runs on EE so no unlock needed). Unlocks are available on ebay for around £2.50.

I think that if I was spending £130 I'd go for the Samsung Galaxy J3 rather than the Sony.
I can afford to pay a lot more, but cannot justify it, for me it's only a phone.
I'm going to have a close look at the LG.
Colin_Maybe, both require a £10 top up, it's right at the bottom.
Just the usual poor Argos listing.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Ahh yes. They buried it within the 'more info' section which you have to expand and even then put it at the bottom. Sneaky.0 -
OP - We run a fleet of Samsung (for various reasons). J3 and J5 score poorly on reliability but as they have a 2 year retail warranty this should not be an issue. Their pick up and return service is good (normally back within 48/72 hours of pickup). Our favourites are A5 2016/2017 which have thus far been very reliable!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
