do Ireland ATMs show UK bank balance?

In Holland, you can't see your bank balance, so know if you're overdrawn etc. Will i see my UK bank's balance at the ATM in Ireland just as in UK & most of europe and China, or not, as in Holland? (Their banking system's ahead of ours, so incompatible.) I can't afford a phone with internet or laptop just for this purpose (not lugging PC about!). Thanks!
