Have just started to set up a Humax tv recorder and its come up with Humax privacy policy - Terms and conditions. Does anyone know what happens if I don't, as far as viewing freeview and the internet. Never had this with my old Humax. Thanks for any replies.
Couldn't wait as I've got to go out and I declined to sign up to them.

Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. Peer at your baby's eyes for them to reflect back just people-throw away your flags and religious symbols...

Thanks bengalknights. A few minutes after choosing a programme my new Humax FVP 4000T kept turning itself off, so I'm returning it. Also, if anybody buys one, they should be aware that it asks for a wi-fi password and won't let you progress any further in the initial setup until you comply. So anybody who doesn't have a wi-fi to set up to, can't complete the setup - odd that unless I missed something. My old Humax lasted about six odd years with no wi-fi restrictions.Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. You have chosen a box which requires internet for the catchup service, so it will need your wifi password, just like a laptop does. Perhaps,it has sensed that you don't have a cable plugged in, so assumes wifi will be used.0 -
teddysmum, I have a router wifi so it was no problem for me, but their should have been a simple opt out for those who just want to see Freeview. After all, they have a Netflix button on the handset which I wouldn't ever use anyway.Peel back your baby's eyelid to find no nationality or religious identity mark there. It does sound a bit odd - if there is functionality which can be used without an internet connection then it should be possible to disable the wifi radio and not need to enter a password.
It makes me wonder where we are going with internet enabled appliances like fridges and freezers - if your freezer has lost it's wifi connection does that mean it will let all your food defrost? Hopefully not. The same should apply to TV recording boxes - the basic functionality should still work even if the internet connection is missing.
If we reach a point where appliances will only work if they are able to communicate with big brother then we will be in a very scary place. I think then I might decide to just read books by candlelight, grow all my own food and wash myself and my clothes in the nearest stream
Are we making progress through technology?"In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0
