Fitting front & rear cams?

I had been thinking of a dash/windscreen camera for a while now. After this weeks episode i have also thought about a rear facing camera too.
For anyone who has had this carried out by someone (a professional who charged, not their friend who did it for beer tokens) is it a lot more to wire in a rear facing camera (forget the price of the camera itself)?
Also what does the job actually involve? Are we talking floor carpet up, headlining out?

What episode? Have I missed something? I turn my back 5 minutes...
The fitting process can be done for you here:

If you want to buy your own and fit it, you will need a long 12volt cig lighter cable and if you only have one 12 v socket and need to run your satnav from it, you are stuffed, unles you buy a very expensive GPS dashcam.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

Yeah that's the thing, i wouldn't want any wires on show. I'd want it to come on when the car starts up with no need to manually turn it on, both front & rear and i'd also like to retain the 12v socket for like you say - sat navs.1. Buy dashcam.

Wow. Can you recommend me such a dashcam that has that fantastic view that it captures clearly what's going on at the REAR when you place it up front? And if you have rear passengers, does it just automatically see through them too?
Maybe a tongue in cheek comment above, but there are dozens of dashcams with front and rear views. Some attach to the interior mirror and unless you have 3 people in the rear that totally block out your rear view mirror then the dash cam will work.
Or buy one like mine where the rear camera simply plugs into the front camera. One wire no messing. Rear cam came with a bag of fitting for just about any option. Sticking to the glass or to the frame around the glass to tucking under the rubber seal and several other options.
Or get a dashcam with a remote box where you simply plug the 2 cams into that and you hide that box out of view.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Many vehicles also have a utility socket in the boot compartment, that could be used to power a rear dash cam.0

Or indeed a second power socket inside the car, presumably intended for use by those in the back seats. And it doesn't have to be an upmarket car, it's what I have in my Fiesta (I actually use the rear socket to power my front facing dashcam as it has a long cable and the front socket for my satnav).0 -
I wired 2 viofo a119s into my car, was a headache getting it to run to the fusebox which is in the engine bay.
A few extended cables and a couple anker battery packs later and all now working fine.0
