Only visit when I am closing my account with them if I can't do it online or by phone like the Clydesdale Bank

I visit my branch of TSB when I have a problem, either self-inflicted or something new. It is a great pleasure to visit the Louth branch: efficient and courteous staff, always short queues. Anything complicated or lengthy is dealt with by moving into a quiet room. Some days the manager greets customers!

I bank online, but we switched and set up our account in branch and it was a painless, hassle-free process.
I think this job really needs
    a much bigger hammer.

Don't tell their senior management, they'll probably close that branch citing "lack of demand".

and I usually visit the Louth branch of Halifax!
Seems a popular place and currently we have all the big ones: Halifax, Lloyds, Barclays, TSB, Santander, HSBC and 2 BS. If the building isn't a charity shop it's a bank!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I only visit them when they have a charity event on because I can be assured of free cakes and biscuits.

    That's the spirit.

    ...to deposit Premium Bond cheques

This used to be my main reason for visiting a branch (sadly not as often as every month :() but I've now amended my NS&I account to have any winnings paid directly into my nominated account.
