Aw...making and doing those things together are definitely the things that count and that they will have fond memories of.....0

Hope your DD is feeling better soon. My younger girls are asthmatic and have spent endless nights in hospital after a rush to A&E. From being in hospital since tiny they cant diagnose asthma until they are 5. Luckily both my girls have grown out of so many attacks and have been off the preventer almost a year.
I love the Christmas lists on here, think I need to pinch a few.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Sorry to read that youngest has been in hospital - fingers crossed you got some decent sleep last night.
I cant contribute to the ideas for activities and you have had some lovely ideas already.
If ex is not going to be at yours for Xmas then now is the time to make new memories with the kids.
We don't really push the boat out for food apart from needing to buy a Xmas pudding for DH.
The one thing DD insists on is pigs in blankets from M&S - she says they are the best ever. We make our own pigs in blankets from our own sausages and bacon but DD always wants the shop brought. I can usually get them on a 3 for 2 offer so not too expensive. (by the way DD is 14 now and has insisted on these for years)
What makes it special is that we only have pigs in blankets once a year - it probably sounds sad to some people as I expect there are some that have it every week with their roast.0 -
Hope you little one is feeling better today.
Christmas biscuits is a great idea. For something a little different, a basic sponge mix cooked in a rectangular tin can be cut carefully to make Christmas trees. Cover with green butter icing and add a chocolate finger for the trunk and you have festive cakes!
One year I found a book that contained a nativity scene that you had to fold and build. I think it was Usbourne but sometimes I've seen well priced books for sale through the Book People.
Winter walks are always lovely. Perhaps read The Stickman by Julia Donaldson and "find" the stick family on a walk.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Last Christmas was my first without the ex, so I felt I needed to start a tradition going forward so I did croissants for breakfast. The children really liked it and it was a light breakfast that still gave them room for Christmas lunch.:)paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thank you for all the replies.
Youngest behaviour has definitely set in. She is driving the whole house insane! She slept well last night though, shame can't be said for me! I was up at 4 after an awful dream! I'd only been asleep 2 hours and then didn't want to go back to sleepI feel like a child saying that :rotfl:
Have some ironing to do today, along with the weekly roast. I should go and buy some salad things really for their lunches, Im at home for lunch all week so will have soup out the freezer.
10 more days till payday, I have a lot of bills to catch up on so I won't be busting much debt this month but I will be able to catch up with everything that's behind. Also will do a Mr Sains shop (I have £12 off £50 spend) Will mainly be milk :rotfl:
Thank you for all the christmas ideas, I nearly have the 24 days of december full. I might take some of the ideas and add some in to our normal weeks. I feel like sometimes we are in such a routine there isn't much time for fun stuff.0 -

Pigs in Blankets are definitely only for Christmas - like bread sauce, that's a once a year thing too!
Lovely activity ideas there and again nothing to add really. Good plan to come up with a special activity of some sort to add in to usual routines too - it's easy to get stuck in that rut isn't it, which is fine some weeks but you don't want to reach the point of feeling like there's no time for fun, as you say.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Oi missus! Not rubbish! You're paying stuff off! It's going down, not even staying the same and definitely not going up! You're doing wonderfully! You are amazing! Keep it up sugar!0
