Remove Arrears from Credit File

Hello,
We bought a dishwasher for £400 from Comet around 2014, now we had a 1 year no payment deal or something like that.
Anyway in that time as some may remember Comet went bust, now we weren't informed of who we needed to make the payments too and had no requests for a monthly payment agreement. Nor did we know who to contact. I should also add we gave the Direct Debit information for payment to start at the time we took it out.
We were written to around 7 months after to say the debt was written off.
I've just checked our credit file and it's showing it as a default for 6 months then Settled.
Is it reasonable to ask for this to be corrected? If so who would we contact? i've checked the file via Noddle.

I would contact whoever wrote to you.
Failing that, raise a dispute with the CRA - it may not only appear on Noddle.
Obviously be prepared to settle the full amount if needed.0 -

Hi,
It's been marked at settled but we have got 6 months of DF on the credit file hence the query.
Not sure if we have that letter anymore I think it was a creditor.0 -
Can you take a screenshot of what it looks like in your Noddle account please?
It sounds like they defaulted you, but then marked the default as settled, so you still have a default.
Have you checked what it shows on your Experian and Equifax files too?
