Wasps!

Update: Went for a walk around this afternoon, but couldn't find a single wasp. We usually have a nest in one of the hedge banks, where they just take over a vole or rabbit hole, but despite there being lots of hawthorn and apple blossom, there's no wasps. There are many more honey-type bees than I'm used to seeing though, which is encouraging.
Just for clarity, I didn't say there are no wasps now, just not many. It's possible the OP only saw queens, which is why I didn't see the point in her spending immediately on pest control.0 -
Our honey bees have been active for some time.
The solitary male bees (mason bees) have hatched out and are hanging around just like a group of bored teenage boys waiting for the girls to arrive.
The only wasps we've got are queens looking for nesting sites.
We've had the occasional bumble on warmer days.0
