£250/month rent including bills is easily doable up north.

Really rent, council tax, gas and electric, tv license, broadband. contents insurance, car insurance, mobile phone for 250 a month? Not unless they live with mum and dad.

One day you may actually leave your bedroom and find it's not.

Your Net worth wont change if you do what you're proposing. It will be £6878.77 + a £600 car rather than £4478.77 + a £3000 car.

It might do. Buy an £800 car and then spend out £500+ on repairs and that money is no longer part of your net worth
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Yes. As per my original post, you'd be buying someone elses problems at that price point. Better the devil you know...

How often do you use the car? I would say if you definitely NEED the car (eg a commute that could not be walked, cycled or public transport) then hang onto what you have - if the car is not actually needed for work then consider selling and saving.

Cheap maybe, but £62.75 a week to cover many, if not all of the following?

    Rent
    council tax
    Water rates
    Gas
    Electricity
    Building and contents insurance
    Food
    TV licence
    telephone rental and call charges
    Broadband
    Car tax
    Car insurance
    Petrol for car
    Maintenance of car

And possibly one or two things I've forgotten

Go on then. Quote some figures for this magical Northern location. I actually do live in the north, and I know very well you're talking out of that widely stretched !!!!!! once again.
