What time meal on flight ?

We are flying to Portland Oregon in a couple of weeks with Delta from Heathrow. Flight is at 12.30pm UK and it says it includes lunch on board. Now silly question. Will that be served at US time. Portland is 8hours behind us and we land at approx 15.20US. If lunch is US time thats going to be about 1.00pm which UK time will be about 9pm. We have to be at Heathrow by about 9am so am I right in thinking that we will need to get a good breakfast before flying else we wont be eating for a long time.:)

They'll serve it an hour or so after takeoff, then you'll likely get some additional food a couple of hours before you land, depending on where you're connecting. (Are there any direct flights to Portland?)

    +1 on above.

The service will depend on your cabin but assuming economy then a hot lunch served about 90 minutes after departure. Typically a small salad starter dish, choice of hot entree, bread, small desert plus if you are lucky some cheese and biscuits.

Between 60-90 minutes before landing in Portland you will receive a light snack. For your time of day I would have expected a small sandwich or possibly a small hot pizza wrap type thing.

Lots of information on the delta.com website about your upcoming inflight experience.

We will be leaving home at 6am to get to Heathrow by 9am. So guess once offloaded baggage etc we should get something to eat to see us through until UK time lunch at about 2pm. We are flying Delta Comfort but guess the food is the same as normal economy.

I have flown with Delta before and agree with others. They will feed you about an hour after take off i the hope you will all go to sleep after and will give you something else about an hour before landing.

Yes, the food is exactly the same in Delta Comfort. You are only paying really for a little extra space and seating towards the front of the Economy cabin.

Do they call the Economy cabin 'Delta Discomfort' then?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
