sky email address on a virgin package

hi all
i am contemplating moving from sky to virgin for my tv and broadband package (purely on a financial basis). the one thing holding me back was the thought of losing my @sky.com email address that i have had for nigh on 20 years.

the sky advisor told me that i can retain and use this address with virgin, but elsewhere i have been told that i will lose it after a period of time so can anyone confirm, who may have been in this scenario, if this is the case.

also did you regret moving from sky to virgin for the overall package. was it a smooth transition etc?

This is why using a email address from Sky/Virgin isn't a good idea, Gmail is a good example.

providing i can keep using my sky address when with virgin then that would be fine. it would be a big faff to have to change my email address after all this time (contacts, business cards etc). so really just looking for confirmation from someone who has migrated to virgin from sky that this is possible.

Gmail wasn't much of a choice 20 years ago

Sky.com emails are serviced by yahoo, you will still be able to use it as long as you login every now and then (dormant accounts will be deleted).

You'll need to change the outgoing email server to virgin's if you use an email software
