How can I check if mobile phone on contract there is a pay and go son in phone...is it the sim that's just on contract and not the phone
You can't, and even if you could it's false security. If you're worried about the phone being blocked it's just as easy for a PAYG phone to be blocked if the seller is dishonest and decides to pull an insurance job.====0 -
You could send a text to check the balance. If it works it'll either be PAYG with a credit balance or last bill balance. The nmber to send the text to may also depend on whether it's PAYG or a contract - and that depends on the network.0

That would only tell you that the current sim was PAYG or contract, not that the handset was originally PAYG or contract which I think is the OPs question.====0 -
The OP wasn't entirely clear, but if it's on PAYG the phone wouldn't be on contract.0

I'm not sure of that logic, if I get a phone on contract and then put a PAYG sim in, is the phone a contract phone or not?
I'm presuming this is the actual question (with possible missing words and typos rectified):How can I check if a mobile phone was on contract if there is a pay and go sim in the phone?====0 -
I'm afraid I am very unclear about what they mean. I am also puzzled as to how he wouldn't know. Contracts are generally for thwe airtime i.e. sim, not the phone. If the sim proves to be a PAYG how could the phone be on contract as such?0

I'm presuming it's more about phones supplied on contract which most people call contract phones, buying a contract phone second hand can open you to a more risk (more people get insurance on contract phones, so the likelihood of insurance fraud is higher) and also the fact that certain contract phones can be blocked for non-payment these days (EE contract handsets in the first 6 months of sign up) means you have more chance of a contract handset being blocked than one originally bought on PAYG.
Again, all presumption due to the poor writing manner and lack of details in the OP, but the most likely answer.====0
