I bought a second hand notebook and no longer have contact with the seller
Now it's asking for Current Password
I haven't a clue what it is
I tried factory reset but the password request comes back too quickly. I can't even get to the BIOS page because it doesn't stay on long enough
I was advised to hit enter 3 times and look for a resulting code but no code came
Just Fatal Error ... System Halted
Removing power and/ battery gets me back to the "Enter current password" page
Could anyone advise

What's the full alpha numeric code posted after the system halted message?

Try it again. You might notice what you didn't before.

How will that work if they insist there is no alpha-numeric hash?

Try pressing F2 or F12 before the third attempt. If you are sure there is no alpha numeric code, we can look at other ways of bypassing the password.

If it's a bios password then there's no bypassing it

This allows you to remove windows passwords

If that's the Serial Number it might be on the Service Tag under the battery?
If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.
