I need urgent advice please - Trainee Train Driver application was mishandled

I passed the Trainee Train Driver assessment, medical and screening, but because of the screening company's mistakes and the rail company's miscommunication, they forgot to tell me at the last day that my application is complete.
With that, they missed the deadline that I needed for giving my notice in at my current work in order to start with them in the beginning of May. They were well aware of my deadline.
I met with the rail company and they admitted that they made mistakes, but instead of finding a solution which the meeting should be about, they now blaming me for reacting harshly in my emails and because they couldn't communicate with me via phone while I was at work. They were well aware that we should communicate via emails. Anyone who read my email said it wasn't harsh.
They said they will decide by the end of next week if they want to hire me.
We signed the contract that states I will start in May if I pass all tests. I passed and was ready and prepared.
It was a miscommunication on the rail company's part and they were unavailable when we arranged a phone call.
They made mistakes and now they put the blame on me by singling me out. They didn't put the other candidates in this situation to see how they will react. Even they admitted they would be upset if it would happen to them.
Do they have a right to do this after we signed the contract?

May I politely suggest that you use more paragraphs in your opening post, as many of those here who could offer useful advice will not be prepared to read a wall of text.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I got half way through the post but, really, it rambles too much.
You need to just give the relevant facts.
From my limited understanding, you applied for a job, the process took longer than expected and you missed the start of a training program.
You have made your feelings known, the company don't like how you expressed your disappointment and are now reviewing whether they want you to join them.
Is that the crux of it?
Bottom line? They have their processes and unless they are in any way discriminatory (as in protected characteristics) then you have no recourse.
It's their job, they can offer it or withdraw it - unfortunately your attitude (according to their feedback) demonstrates a possibility that you are not right for the role.
You can appeal to HR but that's it really.:hello:0 -
No idea, I never read any wall of text like that even if it's the most thrilling piece of writing since the latest John Le Carre.0

Even with the paragraphs, I lost the will to live about five paragraphs down. But just on that amount, it seems you applied, they said yes, then they said no. That is pretty much tough - there is nothing stopping them changing their minds for any reason that they want. End of story0

Unless I am misunderstanding your post (and I'm sorry but it is very difficult to follow) then you have no claim against them.
