Hi mickburkejnr,
I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling unhappy with Cheap Energy Club and that your direct debit has increased.
The tariff costs on Cheap Energy Club do include the gas and electricity you use and not just the standing charge, so it seems as though Scottish Power may have misinformed you here.
To calculate how much a tariff would cost we take the usage information which you've entered in your account and work out how much the tariff would cost you, based on its rates. This is calculated for both yearly and average monthly costs.
I've replied to your email with a little more detail on how this is calculated and have also explained what I think may have happened here.
I hope this helps.

I've got your email, I'm just going through previous bills etc to see what's happened. But thanks for the help.0 -
I've been using MSE EC and U-switch over the last week as my current deal is ending in a couple of months - on U-switch the headline comparison is based on what you'd pay over the next 12 months (which for me is part fixed deal and part standard variable). But if you click on the 'What you'll pay' box you can choose to compare against what you're paying now or what your 12 month projection will be. For me it switches from £165 saving to extra cost of £84. Can't see what's wrong with that?0
