Blimey you’re on fire... but do take it easy. That reaction does not sound good at all.
Nice to have sorted holiday plans and to have paid for some of it already.
Get better soon0 -
Ahh just lost my post!
I am going back to work today
DH phone bill is £30 more than usual  I have suggested he covers the difference with his personal spends but this is falling on deaf ears  The money saved from the fuel budget will now got to this and not the new blind
I received a cheque from BG relating to a refund from when I was overcharged about 2 years ago. Only £7.10 but every little helps. I used the banking app on my phone to scan it and pay it in, how cool is that? Saved me a trip to the village and 30p in parkingI have put this in the overpayment pot for the credit we will be left with if/when the remortgage goes through. I am aiming to have the smallest debt cleared by the end of next year.
I found both mine and DS passports yesterday. Still haven't found the completion certificate, hope the broker has. I did chuck out another bin liner of old papers and rubbish though.
The soup didn't get made so DH has had the leftover gammon in sandwiches. I did vaccum our and DS room, the landing and top steps and the living room. Also put away all the clean underwear and half of a pile of 'doesn't need to be ironed' clean clothes.
I need to think of something for tea tonight, maybe JP, sausages and beans.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Don't you just love a pile of doesn't need to be ironed clothes-almost as good as chocolate!0

What's an iron? I never iron anything unless it's a shirt for an occasion. I'm talking weddings and funerals rather than court appearances!! :rotfl:Mortgage at end 05/2007: £90200

YNAB is changing the way I live my life....and spend my money!!0 -
Poor DH is worn out with this new job. His hours are long as he is short staffed and he has to work on Saturday. Hopefully this will change soon as he fills the vacancies. He is not stressed which he was during the last 2 years at his previous roles/jobs, just knackered.
I am working from home today and have been tidying up since 6.30am as the valuer is coming this morning and the place is a tip
Our food spends this week have been shocking. We have been to the shops 7 times! I have made DH lunch every day but he has also been bought food by his boss and a colleague which he will reciprocate today. DH has asked for some ready meals for next week which I will buy and then will see what I can make at home e.g. soup/chilli to replace these going forward.
As I mentioned earlier in the week what we eat and how much we spend on it needs to be a real focus. Hopefully once the mortgage is sorted and most of the debt consolidated I will have the headspace to concentrate on it. There are still financial goals I want to achieve next year but they are several small, achievable goals rather than the behemoth of our debt which overwhelms me. Once the mortgage is sorted I will share my plans. <<<
mucho positive thinking!!!
The good news is we haven't used the credit cards this month, there is money in the pots that should have money in them, we have covered the cost of DH new passport, the decorating of the bedroom, DH ridiculous phone bill, DS annual sports club fees, a term of music lessons, my Christmas present, most of the spending money for our October break and the deposit for next year's holiday from salary this month. OK, DH did get a guaranteed bonus and an extra weeks pay but most of those expenses won't occur every month either.
Our first organic veg box in 4 years arrives today. DH loves the look and smell of it (as well as eating it;)) so I will leave it in the porch until he gets home for sniffing
DS is loving Y4 and this week has had his first music lesson and school swimming lesson. He has been a star at home too; getting dressed and brushing his teeth, making his bed and feeding the dog without me nagging for once. He even did his English homework last night!
Yet another to do list...…………….
- DH passport renewal
- Cut hedge
- Second coat in bedroom
- Work out if I can afford to order a blind and order it if I can. Do I just do it and squeeze the budget without raiding pots???
- Washing
- Ironing
- Put away laundry
- Vac stairs
- Swipe around the bathroom and clean loos
- Food shop (meal plan done)
- Make soup
- Make energy bars
- Make cheese bread
- Make our bed
- Apples (again!)
- DS homework and spelling practice
- Big walk - debating 13 miles in hills or 18.3 miles flat to get miles in our legs
Another quiet weekend then;)

It is so good to hear that you have plots and plans simmering away and that 'stuff' is generally positive at the mo. you sound very contented (if somewhat busy!!!) Long may it last!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

I love a good list Thistle
I am lacking in energy today and can't say I have got much work done
I attempted DH passport renewal but his picture is going to be rejected due to his coat being up around his ears. Another £6 will be required for another attempt
It is our wedding anniversary this weekend. DS is staying Saturday night at DPIL so we can do our big walk on Sunday so we are going to go into the village for a happy hour pasta and a glass of wine on Saturday night. I have £40 in the pot so this should more than cover it as its either £4.99 or £5.99 each for 3 yummy courses.
DH colleague has also offered to work Saturday for him so we can finally get the bedroom finished and the house put back together :T I can't wait.
I've had a good look at YNAB and with the food overspending and DH having to sort out a back payment that didn't get taken for the gym he is trying to cancel we don't have enough money for the blind this month and probably not next month either as we will need money for 2 meals and some celebratory beers after completing our walk and to cover the taxis to the airport for our trip away.
Having a spot of lunch (YS quiche) and then will brave Mr T. I have done a list and priced it up as I have an £8 off £40 voucher. We really don't need much and if I wasn't buying energy gels we wouldn't hit the £40. Will also try and get DS some school trousers but these are a different budget but will help hit the £40.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

Thanks apple.
I am trying not to get my hopes up about the remortgage/consol but it does really feel like the light at the end of the tunnel and an opportunity to have a fresh start and move forward. DH is so much happier at work too which is one less thing to worry about.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
