I've been using app successfully all morning.

Just tried to log in on desktop site and after inputting all security info I'm getting this message

Srry, there's been a minor connection problem. Please press OK to continue.

Needless to say, pressing OK doesn't get me in, but worryingly, all my security details seem to have been retained on screen, albeit disguised as ****. :(

And that flashing square widget is giving me a migraine:mad:

Now I'm getting the 'Our online banking is temporarily unavailable' message.

This has me worried as the Co-op have seemingly failed to find a buyer in the past days. Hope they have not gone into administration.

Me too! Very worrying when we can't access our accounts or carry out transactions. No message on their page, and I don't know how to use twitter.

If you are genuinely worried then the only thing you need to do is to open a second current account with a different bank (assuming you don't have one already). Stick a few day's spending money (more if you can afford it) in the account and put the debit card safely in a drawer.

If something terrible were to happen to the Co-op and you cannot access your money then you can just use the alternative account until things are sorted.

As Stuart_W says, if anything happens to the Co-op it will be managed very carefully while accounts are transitioned to a different bank.

The only risk comes from customers, seeing online banking is down etc, making assumptions and starting a panic which clogs up the system with enquiries and withdrawals.

If you have a separate account for emergencies then you'll have no need to contribute to the panic :)

The same advice applies to any bank... a major IT systems failure can happen to any company at any time, wise customers spread their risk :D

At 15:01, the Coop web-site was still allowing me to log-in and view my transactions......

[I did get the warning message earlier today, sometime around 11:30, so something has been fixed since then.]

Maybe it is just your account which has been taken into administration by the BoE? ;)

Have you tried the 'clear the cache' trick?

LOL Maybe it was just my account. I'm borderline obsessive about clearing the cache, so it wasn't that. Anyway I managed to fight my way in at 8. Now I remember why I use the app for 99.9% of my transactions:cool:
