Virgin Media poor compensation for loss of service

Experienced loss of broadband T.V. (quite quickly restored )and Wi Fi over a period of nearly three days concurrently. During this time rang them and was told various times it would be restored and they'd let me know and noted my complaint. They didnt. No apology or confirmation since so I rang and was eventually told I would get £4.41 compensation in line with their policy. This no way compensates me for the inconvenience (I was organising an event involving many others at the time) and the extra data I had to buy for my mobile phone to cover the loss of using Virgin media wi fi. Cannot find an e mail address to complain so all this taking place on phone. And incidentally they said they couldnt send me a follow up e mail recording what had been discussed!! Anybody else challenged their policy? How did you go about it?

What are you asking for re compensation .
Usual is a refund for the days out of service .
Inconvenience they might offer you £30 if you asked nicely . But they have no obligations to do so .Mobile phone £10- £15 .0 -
Thanks JJ Egan. Yes, they said policy was only to offer the lost days worth of service. Absolutely no movement on anything else. My thoughts are that some services would have to offer you a replacement if you didnt receive what was promised e.g hotel room if couldnt provide what you'd booked, so asking to cover my extra payment on mobile phone data a bit like that. Yes, I probably would have been satisfied with£30.00 . Thanks again for your reply though.0

You won't get anything on a residential service contract, since there is no SLA. If you want compo for consequential losses, you need a business contract.
All you are entitled to is a pro-rata credit for the downtime, which is what they've already offered you.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I had this issue with TalkTalk & I ended up with having to pay £42 to get extra data on my mobile phone to use internet... after many arguments with them they eventually put the £42 credit onto my account & also waived a months fee.Dwy galon, un dyhead,
