+1 for simply not leaving anything on display.
I know its not always the case but everyone I personally know that has had a car break-in has left something on the seat.
Just last night I was walking the dog and a Fiat 500 parked on a residential road had an expensive looking handbag in full viewe on the passenger seat. I wondered if I should knock on the door of the house but thought that it would go one of two ways
1) thanks, weirdo, we will be suspicious of you if we see you from now on.
2) Thanks, how can we ever repay your thoughtfullness
I walked on... dog caught sight of a fox anyway so I had little choice in the matter!0
