Micra (pre reg) or Stepway (brand new)
We have a 3 month old baby and our 2004 Mercedes c220 coupe is starting to get very very expensive in repair costs and is totally impractical with getting a baby in the back in her car seat. It is crippling my back. It is a diesel car and we were holding off till they announced the scrapped scheme but it's looking like that won't be coming into play in January next year and we really need to change this summer before the baby goes in the next stage car seat which we will struggle to get her in with the 2 doors.
We have seen this Micra

Or we were looking at a Dacia stepway laureate spec brand new.
We have test driven the Dacia and I loved it , we haven't test driven the Micra yet. We want something as close to brand new as this car will be kept and run until it runs no more.
Which would you go for? Ideally we want at least 2.5 years left on the warranty if nearly new or pre reg.

Thats the old model Micra which isnt that great to be honest. Theres a new one out which is much better.
Personally - if you really like the Dacia, i'd run with it.0 -

Thanks for that. We were just looking at the new style one but it's way out if our price range. We were just looking online and have seen a Toyota which is at the very very top of our budget

Ideally we wanted to spend 10k max but we also want reliable motoring and as much space as possible with a growing baby.0 -
My daughter has that micra and I was driving it today. It is not as salubrious as my mini but has all the same bells and whistles. It is surprising large on the inside and doesn't feel like a small car.
That looks a lot for it though. It may be that prices have gone up but it didn't cost that new.
Can't offer any advice about the other car0 -
Yaris every time. Boring, but reliable.0

That will save you £3k:-

We have looked at the panda and I actually had one about 15 years ago but it's a bit small for us now.0 -

If a Yaris can be got within budget, then that would be the best of the 3.
But that one looks seriously expensive? Heres a 66 plate Yaris 1.33 Icon for £9695...

Wow that is a much better price and to be honest worth travelling for. We are on the south coast so it would take a couple of days but worth it to save that much.0
