    Hi,

Thanks, I did give that a go over the weekend but as the edge that any adhesive would go on is so thin it didn't last long.

As were said, I love to see the photo. But how about Sugru ?

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sugru

This is like a blue tack, but it will be solid. They are not so cheap but unique materials for repair, DIY

There are many how to videos at their website.

    Happy repairing :)

Looks interesting, might as well give it a try! If it doesn't there's a couple of cables that could certainly use it around the house :)

FYI I did post some photos several posts back, not the clearest though but best I could get.

    Thanks

Sorry I have found your photos now lol (after cleaning messy cache etc)

Well Sugru would be applicable for your notebook. Sugru is silicon based, and can be durable if apply thickly. (and it is also easy to remove as well)

Good luck, please let us know your development.

was under the impression that bit was part of the bottom case, but it is part of the screen
    as per similar one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxq0TJlD1b0

Also there seems to bean issue with the video cavle moving and a black screen for that model and the fix/prevention is also on youtube. Batter do the fix before you araldite it back on.

  • Thanks all :)

I'll try the Sugru first of all - might as well exhaust options before using glue particularly with the parts under the cover, and of course if it actually needs to be removed again.

Think unlike the guy in the fix video and actually power the laptop off first - certainly wasn't aware of the issues though so will do that first.
  • Well after finally getting the chance to use the sugru to bridge the gaps between the broken plastic tabs, it's done a pretty effective job so far.

The cover isn't 100% flush with the laptop but it's a lot better than before. Shouldn't be impossible to remove it either should access be needed to the components under the cover.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, it'll come in handy for other jobs too :)

Congratulation! If you have packed unused Sugru, keep them in the Fridge!
